In order to be ready to receive First Communion the child should have reached a certain awareness:
- The child should know who Jesus is and be aware of major events in His life, death and resurrection.
- The child should be able to distinguish the Eucharist from ordinary bread.
- The child should have the desire to receive the Eucharist.

Eucharist Preparation Program 2008/2009
Children receive First Communion in the Second Grade. There will be a parent meeting held in September '08 followed by a family potluck dinner in October (details will be announced in the bulletin). At the dinner, children will receive a Reconciliation and Eucharistic Workbook. We ask that you help the children complete the workbook at home. First Communication celebration will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009.
