CCC 2223
"Parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children. They bear witness to this responsibility first by creating a home
where tenderness, forgiveness, respect, fidelity, and disinterested service are the rule. The home is well suited for education in the virtues. This requires an apprenticeship
in self-denial, sound judgment, and self-mastery the preconditions of all true freedom. Parents should teach their children to subordinate
the “material and instinctual dimensions to interior and spiritual ones.”1 Parents have a grave responsibility to give good example to their children.
By knowing how to acknowledge their own failings to their children, parents will be better able to guide and correct them:
He who loves his son will not spare the rod. .. He who disciplines his son will profit by him.2
Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.3"

It is with this in mind that Our Lady of the Visitation offers a bold, revolutionary, wholly Catholic program for Faith Formation, Family of Faith
This is a Catholic, family-focused curriculum that addresses the faith-based, educational needs of the entire family.
The goal of this program is to encourage and equip you, as parents, to live and teach your children the Catholic Faith at home.

 WHAT HAPPENS AT THESE CLASSES?
We equip you, as parents, with education, lessons, resources, and strategies to teach your children at home and during the week. We provide monthly lessons and give you the freedom to select which activities to use to guide your family through. We ask for a minimum of 2 activities per month to be completed, but more are available if you desire.
While you (parents) are in class, children from Prek-7th grade participate in small, age-appropriate groups engaging in activities designed to reinforce the lessons you are teaching them.
8-12th Graders are invited to either join the parent catechesis sessions or to sign up to help as a junior catechist in the other groups.
We will offer 2 Family Retreats this year, one during Advent and one during Lent.
